He was born on July 21, 1899 in Oak Park, IL to Grace Hemingway and Dr. Clarence Hemingway. He was the second of six children who grew up in a quiet suburban town of the nation. Ernest’s father was a physician and both of his parents were devout Christians.

In late 1920s, Hemingway published a great number of works. In the year 1927, he published a short story entitled Men Without Men. In that year, he divorced Hadley and married Pauline Pfieffer. Over the years, there where more publications of Ernest that include A Farewell to Arms, Death in the Afternoon, The Green Hills of Africa.
